City Mission Statement
The City Staff utilizes public funds in a transparent and responsible manner, and as directed by the City Council, to provide Rancho Mirage residents fundamental services such as police and fire protection, clean drinking water, trash and waste water disposal, recycling services, planning, design and maintenance of City infrastructure and land use, and enforcement of the City’s standards which facilitates a quality of life within the community, maintains order in a civilized society, and retains good residents.
Additionally, they are uniquely tasked to use this funding, as directed by the City Council, to provide quality educational and cultural experiences for residents of Rancho Mirage and the greater Coachella Valley specifically to elevate the quality of life to attract visitors and residents.

Location
Rancho Mirage is located in the center of Southern California’s rapidly growing Palm Springs Valley, strategically situated in Riverside County, one of the fastest growing counties in the country, 110 miles east of Los Angeles, 110 miles northeast of San Diego, and approximately 270 miles west of Phoenix. Rancho Mirage has easy access to the entire Southern California market via major freeways, rail corridors and the Palm Springs International Airport, which offers services to all major metropolitan areas. City Hall’s address is 69-825 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, California, 92270, which is located at the southwest corner of Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive.

The Rancho Mirage Observatory is the first of its kind in the Coachella Valley. Situated just beyond the west end of the Rancho Mirage Library, the addition of the Observatory has elevated the Library’s ever-evolving mission of lifelong learning and has created an educational “campus” for residents and visitors alike. The current array of daytime tours, nighttime stargazing events, guest lecturer series, and film screenings offers an unforgettable experience.
Rancho Mirage is proud to be the home to institutions like Eisenhower Health, Hazelden Betty Ford Center and the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center – all world-renowned health facilities. The Tolerance Education Center and the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert deliver programs and services that rival those in any major city.
