0221 Hours – Burglary – Rancho Mirage Police responded to the Talay Thai restaurant located at 70065 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, regarding an alarm call. When the officer arrived it was discovered the lower portion of the west window of the business had been partially smashed inward. The alarm company was unable to locate a responsible party. Officers were able to gain access to the restaurant, and clear the interior of the business. The front entry door was secured and police tape was placed on the outside of the business at the partially shattered plate glass window. A “PATROL” call was generated for extra patrol of the business until a responsible party arrives to the business later in the morning. File #S180520002.
0229 Hours – Burglary – Rancho Mirage Police responded to the Emperor Buffet located at 69600 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, regarding an alarm call. Officers arrived and discovered a shattered plate glass window on the east side of the business. The responsible party for the business arrived and the interior of the business was cleared. It was discovered that approximately $30.00 was taken from the cash register. The security video revealed that possibly two males entered the business after breaking the window glass and exited approximately 30 seconds later. File #S180520003.
1118 Hours – Drug Paraphernalia and Warrant Arrest – Rancho Mirage Police conducted an occupied vehicle check behind Stein Mart located at 42420 Bob Hope Dr., Rancho Mirage. During his investigation, he located numerous items of drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle, Dannielle Runyan, 27 years of Orange, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding felony no bail warrant for robbery out of Orange County. The vehicle Runyan was driving was an unreported stolen vehicle from the city of Tustin. Runyan was booked into the county jail in Indio for the felony warrant. During a search of Runyan at the jail, correctional personnel found approximately 2 grams of suspected heroin hidden inside Runyan. Additional charges of possession of stolen property, bringing a controlled substance into the jail, and possession of drug paraphernalia will be filed out of custody on Runyan.
