The Code Compliance/Animal Services division investigate municipal code violations and administer the Graffiti Abatement, Parking Citation, and Massage Facility programs. Some Code Compliance problems can be described as property maintenance, abandoned vehicles, weed abatement, tree trimming, barking dogs, leash law violations, landscape noise, illegal dumping, RV and trailer parking, zoning questions, permits or business licensing requirements, or neighborhood cleanup. People who may have questions pertaining to the City’s Municipal Code, or concerns in their neighborhood or business, may contact the Code Compliance division at (760) 770-3220 for assistance. If you would like to file a complaint you may complete the Code Compliance Complaint Form, and mail it to the Code Compliance division as indicated.

The Code Compliance division would like to remind residents that the use of “noise producing motorized equipment” by “for-hire” landscapers or gardeners such as lawnmowers, edgers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, chain saws, etc. is prohibited on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. It is allowed only on weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Landscaping and gardening activities that do not require the use of motorized equipment are not covered by this time restriction.

Having an animal is a serious responsibility. It involves not only caring for it, but also making sure you follow Animal Keeping Regulations so that your pet is not a nuisance or hazard to others.
The Coachella Valley Animal Campus (Riverside County Department of Animal Services) is contracted with the City to provide after-hours and weekend assistance is located at 72-050 Pet Land Place, Thousand Palms, CA 92276. They can be reached at (760) 343-3644.
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM FOR PETS
The Rancho Mirage Code Compliance/Animal Services division, in conjunction with the Rancho Mirage Emergency Preparedness Commission, is proud to introduce this innovative new program, which provides residents an opportunity to obtain a Pet Identification Card (“PIC”), which includes a photo as well as detailed information about you and your pet.
