Welcome to the City of Rancho Mirage's new municipal website!

Community Emergency Response Team

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Three (3) Day Basic Course. The CERT program is critical in the effort to engage everyone in the United States in making their communities safer, more prepared, and more resilient when incidents occur.

Learn about:

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • CERT Organization
  • Disaster Medical Operations
  • Disaster Psychology
  • Fire Safety and Utility Controls
  • Light Search and Rescue Operations
  • and more!

Coursework is all in-person and includes lecture, hands on exercises, and scenarios. Succesful completion of this course will allow you to volunteer for nearly any CERT team in the United States.

The City of Rancho Mirage is a train-and-release CERT program, meaning it does not maintain an active roster of volunteers for City sponsored activations. The City does offer CERT One-Day Refresher courses each year.

Registrations will go live on April 16, 2024:

REGISTER HERE.

PLEASE COMMIT TO YOUR ATTENDANCE. Any person who no-shows or cancels within 72 hours of the scheduled training will be de-prioritized at future trainings for up to 2 years. While the program is completely free to the public, is still costs time and money to put the program on and potentially deprives someone else of a seat at the training.
