Businesses Outside The CityBusinesses based outside the city limits that wish to conduct a business, service, or contracting work within the City of Rancho Mirage (building contractors, gardeners, housekeepers, salesmen, delivery services, etc.) are required to obtain a Business License. A Rancho Mirage license is necessary in addition to any Business Licenses from the city where the home office is located. The application process does not include any inspections and can normally be completed upon receipt of payment. Generally, a business license number and temporary copy will be issued immediately. Business License Ordinance § N° 5.04.020 prohibits you from conducting business without a City of Rancho Mirage Business License. The fees for Business Licenses vary based on the type of business. Usually, once the Business License Office has received your payment, a Business License Certificate will be issued within two weeks. Please note: We cannot accept your Business License payment or application without copies of your State License or other forms if required. To check the status of your Business License application, please at (760) 770-3207. *Effective January 1, 2013, an additional $1 State-mandated fee will be added to each Business License issued.On September 19, 2012 Governor Brown signed into law SB-1186 which adds a state fee of $1 on any applicant for a local business license or similar instrument or permit, or renewal thereof. The purpose is to increase disability access and compliance with construction-related accessibility requirements and to develop educational resources for businesses in order to facilitate compliance with federal and state disability laws, as specified.Common Business License Fees
