The Rancho Mirage Fire Department is composed of 24 sworn personnel and 2 civilian personnel serving 24.7 square miles and an estimated city population of 17,504. As part of a regional fire protection program, additional resources are available to the City when the need arises, without additional expense to city taxpayers. Rancho Mirage firefighters and paramedics are out on the frontline, providing you, your friends, family and loved ones with exceptional customer service. Your firefighters and paramedics work hard for Rancho Mirage every day. The Rancho Mirage Fire Department has a long history and tradition of being a great fire department. Its accomplishments have been attained with the support of elected officials the citizens of Rancho Mirage.
Fire MarshalThe Rancho Mirage Fire Marshal's Office provides general fire Marshal services to the Rancho Mirage business community and the public at large. The staff includes a Fire Marshal and a Fire Safety Specialist. In addition to business and new construction plan check and inspections, the Fire Marshal's Office has many other miscellaneous responsibilities. They also provide fire extinguisher classes to businesses, conduct courtesy residential inspections and provides technical assistance to fire investigators as it relates to fire protection and life safety systems performance.
OperationsThe City of Rancho Mirage provides a full time fire department that has state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained and qualified personnel. Through a contract with the Riverside County Fire Department, residents are provided with fire suppression, fire prevention, fire investigation, fire safety education and paramedic services. Each of the City’s two fire stations are staffed 24 hours a day - 365 days a year. Each fire engine is staffed with 3 firefighters and the paramedic unit is staffed with 2 paramedic firefighters on an advanced life support ambulance. Fire Station 50
Rancho Mirage Fire Station 50 is located at 70-801 Highway 111 at Thunderbird Heights. They cover the Southern portion of Rancho Mirage. There is a Medic Engine staffed with two firefighters and one firefighter/paramedic on duty at all times. Fire Station 69
Rancho Mirage Station 69 is located at 71-751 Gerald Ford Drive next to the Children’s Discovery Museum. They cover the Northern Portion of Rancho Mirage. There is an Engine staffed with three firefighters and a Medic Unit staffed with two firefighters/paramedics on duty at all times.
