Health And Medical WelfareThe Health & Medical Welfare Commission was created in 2002 by the City Council for the purpose of discussing, reviewing and analyzing medical and health-related issues which do or might concern residents of Rancho Mirage, and make recommendations to the City Council which, if implemented, are likely to enhance the general welfare of the City's residents. The Commission consists of seven members, five of whom are active or retired medical doctors who live in Rancho Mirage and are nominated by and voted upon by Council, plus two "at large" persons appointed by the Mayor, active or retired who don't need to be medical doctors, but who have had at least 10 years professional experience in the health care field. Rancho Mirage residency or a vote of Council is not required for at large members.. (Established by Resolution No. 2002-93) Members
